Partnering with Curative
We strongly recommend setting aside 4 hours to familiarize yourself with our software, coordinate shipping with UPS, train your staff, and create a plan for how your staff will be tested.
It is essential to train all staff members who will be using the software as well as observing the sample collection checklist. Observation and direction of the specimen collection is mandatory.
Failing to do any of these tasks may result in delayed results, contaminated/inconclusive samples, and ultimately failure to be in compliance.
Receiving Your Nasal Collection Swab Kits
Upon receipt of your test kits, please find a secure location in which to store them. We kindly ask that you hold onto the cardboard boxes that the test kits arrive in, as you will need those for shipping kits back to our lab for processing. For more information about Abbott Alinity test kits, including shelf life and storage conditions, please visit our how-to guides.
Setting Up Your Staff Testing
We recommend that your staff be tested at the beginning of each shift, or before they enter the facility.
Before staff arrive, please ensure that your test site is furnished with the following items:
Computer with Wifi capabilities
Barcode Scanner [supplied by Curative]
Sharpies
Nasal Collection Kits [supplied by Curative]
Test Observation
Please designate a staff member to observe and direct your staff testing. The observer may be any personnel who is trained on proper sample collection protocol. You cannot be an observer for your own test.
Please review the Material Safety Data Sheet
Creating Employee Appointments / Checking Employees in
We advise that you designate an on-site staff member to check in individuals and observe proper sample collection. We use our check-in software to ensure that each staff has a unique test kit barcode number associated with their name through the sample testing process. A new appointment should be created for each staff, every time they get tested. These appointments will be created through our Curative check-in software, which can be found at the following URL: https://app.curativeinc.com/.
After an appointment is created, a staff member on-site will check in the staff by scanning a test kit barcode number into the patient appointment window. It is essential that the appointment number is written on the test kit bag in sharpie. We need to have two forms of identifying information on the test kit when it arrives at our lab; the barcode plus the written appointment number fulfills this requirement.
If a patient would like to receive their results in Spanish, they may do so by selecting their language preference at the time of their check in.
You will receive your unique credentials from your Curative representative.
Sample Collection
Read this Abbott Universal Collection Kit guide to ensure testing compliance and success.
We recommend you send or broadcast this sample collection instruction video to your staff prior to their test.
The observer watches and directs to make sure the person performs a thorough test.
Shipping Staff Test Samples to Curative Lab
You will be set up with a UPS Portal with your onboarding email.
Results
Each staff member will receive their test result via email or text message. The designated administrator will additionally have access to their staff’s results through the Curative software. If a staff member does not receive their results within 3 days, they should reach out to the designated administrator at their workplace.
